Sci-Fi Celebrity Charity Auction
Benefits American Cancer Society

On December 6-7, gallery owner Gary Hasson held his 9th annual event in support of the American Cancer Society.  Known as LIGHTSPEED FINE ART’S CELEBRITY CHARITY BENEFIT, it hosted a number of actors from science fiction television and motion pictures. With an "invitation-only" attendance, 250 loyal clients of Lightspeed Fine Art gathered in Southern California to support this most deserving charity amongst food and merriment with musical entertainment.

Saturday opened with a special screening of "Will You Sign This, Please?" by Robert Picardo, from Star Trek: Voyager, and now on Stargate Atlantis.  His new live comedy DVD is "Bootleg Bob." Picardo shown here with auctioneer Marc Lee.

Following the "Holographic Doctor," crewmate Tim Russ "Tuvok" and his pop rock and blues band performed a stellar concert.

Celebrities appearing Saturday for autographing, photo opportunities, and auction donations included:
Michael Shanks
, "Dr. Daniel Jackson," Corin Nemec and Beau Bridges from Stargate SG:1; Dominic Keating, Connor Trinneer, Anthony Montgomery and Gary Graham from Star Trek: Enterprise; Menina Fortunato, one of the dancing green-skinned Orion Slave Girls from Star Trek: Enterprise; Michael Welch, who starred as the Young Jack O’Neill on Stargate SG:1 and in Star Trek: Insurrection; Denise Crosby, "Tasha Yar" on Star Trek: The Next Generation

I had the personal privilege of working with Michael Shanks as his assistant at his signing table. The conversations he had with fans were respectful, jovial and memorable. Watch for his appearances in Burn Notice beginning in January.

Many of the above celebrities also attended the special dinner that evening, joined by Rod Roddenberry, son of late Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek. Pictured here: "Rod and Berry" comic strip artist David Reddick (also of Garfield fame), Sheryl Roush (me) and Rod Roddenberry.
